TVS debutes in 125cc Scooter segment. Launches TVS NTorq 125 in India.

TVS NTorq 125 Price, Specifications and First Ride Review.

In India, Scooters sale is on a boom. It is fast becoming an important member of many Indian households. Its extreme friendliness to drive on crowded Indian streets has brought it closer to Indian customers.

This segment has always been dominated by 110 cc scooter, but the notion is proving wrong as recently the youth is coming into the fray.

With sporty scooters like Aprilia SR150 and recently launched Honda Grazia targeting Indian youth, India’s foremost two-wheeler company is not staying behind.

TVS has launched it’s first 125cc scooter TVS Ntorq 125  with loads of features and a stunning design. Let’s just talk about this performance scooter in detail.

This aggressively designed performance scooter is nothing but a crowd puller. TVS claims that the design of the Ntorq is inspired by the design of stealth aircraft. Isn’t it a good inspiration to take? Such detail attention to the details is there to see.

The V-shaped headlamp cluster doesn’t have an LED headlamp but does come with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). Front indicators are bit smaller than usual and are placed on the handlebar cowl.

The rear-end design has triangular faux vents flanking the all LED tail lamp, which looks super fresh and sporty. The faux-carbon fibre finish is used to further enhance the sporty nature of the two-wheeler.

The TVS Ntorq 125 has external fuel filling for the convenience of riders. The scooter also has an engine kill-switch which is the first time in Indian Scooters.

TVS NTorq 2018 is available in 4 colours viz., Matte Yellow, Matte White, Matte Green and Matte Red.

The 5-inch N Torq instrument console is fully digital. It can show as much as 30 parameters on the Console which is just mind-boggling.

The TVS scooter gets a ‘Smart Xonnect’ another modern feature which can connect your smartphone to instrument cluster using a Bluetooth connection.

Using this app you can view various information on the instrument console like incoming call alerts, missed call alerts, SMS alerts, signal strength, battery percentage and various other information.

Other information shown on the instrument cluster of TVS NTorq 125 are 0-60 kmph acceleration recorder, lap-timer, top-speed recorder, average speed and service time reminder.

TVS has partnered with MapmyIndia and thus provide navigation assist which provides estimated time and distance remaining on the instrument console. If all this is not enough, the user can also share all the above information on Whats-App with your friends.

As it is the first time, TVS come in 125 cc segment, TVS has developed an all-new engine. The 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine has a 3-valve head, again first of its kind.

The all-new engine develops a power of 9.4PS at 7500rpm and a peak torque of 10.5Nm at 5500 rpm.

The claimed top speed by TVS for this scooter is 95km/hr. The acceleration has good bust into speed reaching from 0-60 km/hr in about 9 secs. The engine is extremely refined, so need not worry here.

The bike weighs around 116 kgs, which I think is the highest in this category. Having said that it doesn’t mean it impacts its handling in any sort of way.

The ride quality is phenomenal, even for tall riders.

Talking about brakes, TVS N torq is equipped with a 220 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm drum brake at the rear side. They perform their job really good and does help to enhance the rider experience.

This performance scooter from TVS ticks all the boxes. While reading this details you might be thinking the price might be to the North of other competitors, you are wrong!

TVS Ntorq 125 is priced competitively at Rs. 58,750 (ex-showroom price). With its near rivals Suzuki Access 125 priced at Rs. 58.000, recently launched Honda Grazia priced at Rs. 62,500 and Aprilia SR125 at Rs. 65,000 the scooter should go well in Indian Market.

With this price tag and all the above features and stunning looks, we don’t see any genuine reason to say no to this scooter.

A big thumbs-up from our Autopedia team for the all-new TVS NTorq 125.
