Suzuki Motorcycles India has officially announced the launch of its new premium Scooter the Suzuki Burgman Street 125cc.
Suzuki lovers should not be new to the Burgman Maxi Scooters. The Japanese automakers already have bigger and powerful variants in various international markets.
This is the first time Burgman Street 125cc has launched its maxi-scooter in India.
The new flagship scooter from Suzuki is placed above the Suzuki Access 125 and has already made its way in the Suzuki Showrooms.
The booking can be made with a token amount of 5,000 while the waiting list already reaching 2 months.
Burgman Street is available in three colour options namely Pearl Mirage White, Matte Fibroin Grey and Glass Sparkle Black.
The styling of the Suzuki Burgman Street is inspired by the larger Burgman sibling, the Burgman 650cc sold globally.
Burgman Street features an all LED headlamp and taillamp.
The scooter sports a telescopic fork suspension up front and a monoshock suspension at the rear side. The Burgman Street 125 comes with larger alloy wheels along with tubeless tyres.
The scooter also has disk brake upfront along with combined braking system (CBS) for effective braking duties. Ground clearance is 160 mm and the kerb weight is 110 kg.
The flagship scooter from Suzuki has an all-digital Instrument console identical to Suzuki Access. The Burgman 125cc has a class-leading seat storage capacity of 21.5 litres.
Other important features include a port for charging, a front windshield and a flexible seating position.
Engine and Performance:
Suzuki Burgman 125cc is powered by the same 124cc single cylinder air cooled engine identical to Access 125. The scooter produces 8.7 bhp of power at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5000 rpm.
The CVT transmission in the scooter returns a fuel efficiency of around 45-48 kmpl.
The fuel tank capacity of Burgman 125 is 5.6 litre, thus can run about 250 km at one go.
Scooter segment in India has been on a positive trend and getting bigger every passing year.
The flagship scooter from Suzuki is priced at Rs.68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes the scooter around Rs.9000 more than Access 125.
Only time is to tell will the aggressive pricing backfire or will the new Burgman Street be the new trendsetter in ever-growing scooter segment in India.
