Ducati India has launched its flagship adventure tourer Multistrada 1260 and Multistrada 1260S.
Ducati Multistrada has been a massive success for the Italian auto giants and the newly launched 1260 and 1260 S variants promise to retain the same success story, the same aura.
Globally the adventure tourer is launched in 4 variants but in India, the motorcycle is available in two variants namely the standard Multistrada 1260 and the Multistrada 1260 S.
Multistrada 1260S is by far the most advanced motorbike from Ducati and is available at price Rs. 18.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the standard Multistrada 1260 is priced at Rs. 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
Here are all the features of the flagship tourer from Ducati Motors.
The standard Multistrada 1260 windshield is taller than the earlier 1200 variants. The side-fairing panels also are redesigned in a better way.
The rear side comes equipped with a luggage mount assisting in longer journeys. The Italian adventure tourer comes with a full LED headlamp alongside cornering function.
The standard 1260 variant is available in Red with a grey frame and black coloured wheels.
The Multistrada 1260s is available with 2 colour options namely a Volcano grey and Iceberg White, while both available with golden coloured wheels.
Multistrada 1260 weighs at 209kg and 1260s weighs around at 212 kg.
The motorbike comes with a 5-inch fully coloured TFT display and comes equipped with loads of features and various riding modes to choose from.
The Multistrada 1260s comes with a Ducati Skyhook Suspension(DSS), but the standard variant misses out on this feature. The bike also comes equipped with a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock suspension.
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE:
Multistrada 1260 is powered by an all-new 1262 cc, L-twin testastrella engine with a Desmodromic variable timing (DVT). The DVT technology results in a good low-end torque thus assure immense riding pleasure for sure.
The flagship adventure tourer Multistrada 1260 produces a Power of 138 bhp at 9500 rpm and a peak torque of 130 Nm at 7500 rpm, meshed with a 6-speed transmission.
Multistrada 1260 provides riders with 4 riding modes to choose from namely Sport mode, Touring Mode, Urban mode and Enduro mode.
Other important features of the Multistrada include Cruise control, Wheelie control and Cornering ABS. The 1260S variant receives a EVO M50 four-piston calipers to further enhance the braking duties.
Ducati Multistrada 1260 is available at Rs.15.99 lakh, while the Multistrada 1260S is priced at Rs.18.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Both Ducati Multistrada bikes primarily rival the likes of BMW R1200GS which is available at Rs.15.7 lakh and Rs.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for its both variants.
Priced at Rs.17 lakh the newly launched Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx will also lock horns with the Ducati Multistrada Variants.
However, the Multistrada 1260 is said to be the least maintenance demanding motorbike in the high-end ADV segment and thus requires an oil change after 15,000 km running. Thus can have an edge over its rivals.
Now with the Ducati Multistrada introduced in the Indian market, we can see the high-end ADV segment getting more competitive and who gets the nod from the buyers will soon be answered.
