In recent times the flare Audi Q5 had earlier has been taking a toll due to sustained competition in its market. Once a Market leader in its segment, Audi is about to launch new 2018 Audi Q5 on 18th January. Let’s take a look at what the German Auto giants have on offer for the Indian Customers. Since its launch in 2011, Audi Q5 had been an instant success in the Indian market, becoming one of the most beloved Premium SUV in this part of the World. Lately, the numbers haven’t done justice to its history and thus made Audi come up with a new Audi Q5 2018.
The design changes aren’t all evolutionary but yeah they do enhance the appeal the old Q5 had. In fact, the new Audi Q5 2018 front looks very similar to Q7. The LED DRLs alongside the headlamp pretty much adds to the sharpness of the design. The tail lamps are also redesigned and add sleekness to the SUV. The new 2018 Audi Q5 is slightly taller, longer and wider than its older version.
Let’s now talk about the interiors. A dual-colour dashboard has been used, which is similar to Q7 and looks pleasing to the eye. The materials used throughout are excellent, with supple leathers and glossy wood. The infotainment screen is on the top and below is climate control system. The Audi looks spacious in regards to its legroom and headroom. Also, you have a panoramic Sunroof which is nowadays expected in premium SUV segment.
As expected Audi Q5 2018 will be launched in only diesel variant. The engine is powered by 2.0 litre TDI turbocharged engine which is same as the older version but is around 8-10 % more powerful producing 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque. There are different modes to choose for enhancing the driver experience viz., Comfort, Dynamic, Off-Road, Individual and Auto Mode. Choosing certain mode adjusts the throttle response, suspension and steering according to the requirements.
The fuel-efficiency is an important improvement in accordance to its older version. The Automakers claim to have increased the fuel-efficiency by 20% and now delivers around 17 kmpl of average which is great. The primary reason for the mileage getting up by 20% is that new SUV is 65-70 kg lighter than its older variant.
When it comes to Safety, who better to talk than Audi? In fact, the SUV comes with a 5-star Crash certification from Euro NCAP, thus has a competitive edge over the rivals. Other safety features include ABS, Hill Descent Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and as much as 8 Airbags.
When it comes to SUV sales, Audi is the perpetual bridesmaid among German luxury-car brands. The factors to be considered to give the SUV a go are Excellent fuel economy, Superb fit and finish, Deluxe cabin design and Roomy cabin. Audi’s New Q5 has the technology content and driver-assistance amenities it needs to go head-to-head with the segment’s competitive rivals. With the 2018 Audi Q5, the German Auto giants will look to set the pace in a very fast growing segment.
