Toyota India showcased their all-new premium sedan Toyota Yaris earlier this year at the 2018 Auto Expo event.

The Japanese automaker looks to create an aura of its own with their latest offering, very similar to what Honda City did in the Indian market. The Car is the first offering in the C-sedan segment by Toyota.

The Toyota Yaris dealers have already started accepting the bookings for the premium sedan with a token amount of Rs. 50,000 and furthermore is expected to be launched by mid-May.

It is only fair to look into the specification and have our say on the latest offering, the Toyota Yaris 2018.

The Toyota Yaris gets its looks inspired from its elder siblings, the Corolla Altis and Toyota Camry. It is obviously a very affordable version as compared to its near siblings.

The sedan has a futuristic look with many bold elements used in the design. The Car looks real aggressive with huge sweptback headlamps. The projector headlamps have LED daytime running lights.

The front grills come with glossy back slats and rounded fog lamps neatly installed into the large grills, which further adds to the aggressive appeal of the Yaris 2018.

The rear side of the sedan is more sophisticated and looks charming to the eye. Fog lamps are also installed at the rear side.

As far as dimensions are concerned, it is marginally shorter than its near rivals Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Thus can be easier to use in congested areas, but then again you may have to compromise on internal space.

The 2018 sedan comes with multi-spoke alloys and a premium looking chrome handle on the doors. Other features are electrically adjustable Outside Rear View Mirror (ORVM) and rain sensing wipers.

The 2018 Toyota Yaris comes with loads of classy features and a premium looking spacious interiors.

The car gets a segment first roof-mounted AV vents, similar to Toyota Innova Crysta. You also get an ambient lighting illumination feature, to lighten your mood, in case you had a bad day.

The sedan comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Android Auto-play and Apple Car play and has gesture control and automatic climate control system.

Other important interior features in the car include 8-way adjustable power driver seat, acoustic and vibration control, tyre pressure monitoring system and multi-functional steering wheel.

2018 Toyota Yaris comes equipped with 7 Airbags, thus should provide enough safety.

Furthermore, the sedan comes with all-wheel disc brake and hill-start assist, ABS with EBD and Stability control.

The Toyota Yaris has been awarded a five-star rating in ASEAN NCAP crash test. Thus has an edge over its rivals.

The 2018 Toyota Yaris comes with a 1.5-litre dual VVti 4-cylinder petrol engine. The diesel version of the car is not announced as yet, so only petrol variant available as of now.

The sedan produces a power of 108 bhp and a peak torque of 140 Nm. Toyota Yaris is available with an option of 6-speed manual transmission and 7-step CVT automatic transmission.

The engine of Yaris might not outpower Hyundai Verna but comfortably beats Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.


2018 Toyota Yaris will solely be manufactured at their state of art plant in Karnataka.

Because of the competitive nature in the sedan segment in India, the Yaris is expected to be competitively be priced between 8.7 lakh to 13.7 lakh.

Toyota Yaris India loaded with many features is all set to lock horns with its near rivals and market leaders Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento.
